What’s the workshop all about?
This workshop explains the concepts behind mental health promotion, the prevention of mental ill-health (mental illness) and early intervention. Further, the module explains how these concepts are relevant to a range of settings and sectors in Australia. The workshop was developed by the Australian Network for Mental Health Promotion, Illness Prevention and Early Intervention (AUSEINET) as part of a National Workforce Development Strategy.
The purpose is two-fold:
1) To improve knowledge and understanding of the principles of promotion, prevention and early intervention and their application across sectors.
2) To develop a shared understanding of the concepts across sectors. The module is not intended to be skills based. The focus is primarily on enhancing knowledge and raising awareness of the benefits of taking a promotion and prevention approach across a range of sectors.
What’s topics are covered?
