Mental Health Information

We provide information, support and education to people who are affected by mental illness, or who seek to improve their emotional wellbeing. We achieve this via 3 key programs; Facing Anxiety, Mental Health Promotion, and Mental Health Information.

Mental Health Services

We run the Mental Health Matters Awards, and coordinate Mental Health Month, seminars and conferences.  People can join groups to work on their anxiety, phobias, grief or loss. We can present at your school, community organisation or workplace.

What works: research into illicit drug use by mental health consumers aged 18-30

We are undertaking research with young people (18-30) who identify as having a mental illness and who may or may not have used cannabis. We want to understand why they use cannabis, why they don't, and for those who have ceased use, what influenced their decision to stop. The aim of the project is to collect data that may be useful in the development of a health promotion campaign aimed at young people living with mental illness.

The project has received ethics approval from the University of Western Sydney Human Research Ethics Committee (EC 00314) and will be carried out by the Social Justice and Social Change Research Centre (UWS) and the Mental Health Association.

We are currently seeking to employ a Senior Research Officer to complete the project.
