The “Building Resilience” campaign, is a three year mental health promotion campaign running from 2008-2011.
This campaign is all about increasing awareness of your own resilience, that is, developing individual strengths and abilities to bounce back from the challenges and setbacks that life presents us with.
Everyone is born with the potential to develop resilience. In fact, some persons have developed these skills from a very early age. They may have learnt these skills from their parents, or from the environment around them. That said, you are never too old to learn and develop these skills.
By becoming resilient, problems won’t automatically disappear, but it often enables you to see beyond the sometimes overwhelming challenges, enjoy life more and handle future stressors better.
