Up to 1 in 10 women experience depression during pregnancy and 1 in 7 in the year following birth. Anxiety disorders are also common. Talking about Postnatal Depression can break down stigma; allowing new and expectant parents to feel more free to seek help, and recover.
You can educate community about postnatal depression and other mental illnesses experienced in the perinatal period by holding a Parents' Time event.
Find out more about how to get involved, including how to run or attend an event, or read about our three women who are speaking out this Postnatal Depression Awareness Week about their experiences of and recovery from postnatal depression.
